Westin St. Francis- Betsy and Lawrence, April 2011

When Betsy and Lawrence came to I DO! Wedding & Event Design to help them put together a party for the friends who had missed out on their Dallas wedding ceremony, we gladly jumped at the opportunity – giving us the ability to plan an amazing party at the fabulous Westin St. Francis in downtown San Francisco!

Taking place on the twelfth floor in the St. Francis Suite, a room with twenty-foot wooden paneled walls, magnificent views of the city and a library-esc feel, IDO! was able to transform an old-fashioned indoor study to a unique and modern space with the help of some amazing vendors! Working with the wonderful Leslie Wong, the Westin’s Catering Sales Manager as well as Kelly Burns-Gaoiran from Hartmann Studios, we were able to bring in plush, comfortable library furniture, a spacious wooden dance floor as well as several seven-foot tall Olive trees, resulting in a urban city meets central park ambiance. Decadent aubergine linens provided by Napa Valley Linens complemented the elegant simplicity of the plush white floral arrangements designed by Paul Robertson Floral Design. Hartmann Studios brought in both amber and lavender up lighting which warmed the cool wooden tones of the suite and brought out the floral ceiling wash covering each ceiling. Viceroy gold lamps lit up every buffet table, giving the suite a warm and familiar library feel all while being surrounded by the amazing city skyline.

Guests sipped on two unique signature cocktails, The Regal Beagle and Hound’s Tooth, designed by restaurateur Chris VavRosky, the owner of Park Avenue Grill in Oakland, based on the Bride and Groom’s darling beagle, Barry.

As the night continued, the partygoers danced the night away to classics performed by the marvelous five-piece ensemble provided by the Keith Johnson All Stars, who played everything from Jason Mraz  to Aretha Franklin. With all that dancing, everyone was sure to enjoy a vast array of food cart inspired dishes such as risotto fritters and sweet potato fries, miniature roasted chicken Vietnamese sandwiches, braised short ribs and macaroni and cheese and Beef sliders with caramelized onions.

The Cold Soba Noodles were served in martini glasses accompanied by your own chop sticks!

Friend of the bride and chef/owner of The Cup and Cake in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kristin Rozsa flew in just for the event with an amazing cake, adorned with around 1000 handcrafted edible flowers cascading down the three tiers! It was almost to breathtaking to eat!

With the help of Laura Greir of Beautiful Day Photography, and her impeccable taste and ability to capture amazing moments of love, fun and happiness, we have access to an assortment of incredible photos to remember the evening by!

We were treated like royalty by Leslie and her team and cannot wait to do another event at the historic Westin St. Francis with them all again!

Kristine & Steve at Auberge Du Soleil

We are so happy to have Kristine & Steve's Napa wedding at Auberge Du Soleil be our first wedding we share with you!

It was absolutely amazing; the scenery, their theme (different types of wine, of course!) and the beautiful floral aspects!
From their pre-wedding shoot in Newport Beach with A Beautiful Day Photography's Laura Grier, to the last shots with the couple on the dance floor; we have it all and can't wait to share with you!

For starters, the hotel itself was breathtaking! We arrived and were amazed by the tranquility of the lobby and the speedy service from the hotel staff. I had the pleasure of staying at the hotel for the duration of the wedding and am still telling people about the exquisiteness of the rooms!

We were a bit worried about the weather, being the ONLY thing that is unpredictable when it comes to weddings, but were pleasantly surprised and blessed with a PERFECT day!

My personal favorite aspect of the entire wedding had to be the amazing floral arrangements produced by Asiel. A mix of lilacs, roses and tulips; in the Auberge lavender, eggplant and aubergine complimented the already perfect scenery and venue space to a T.

The ceremony was exciting and chic, which explains how Napa feels. Guests eating at the hotel restaurant were pleasingly surprised that day with a wedding as a part of their already flawless view! Looking down from the wedding, where guests could then look down on the pool and the never-ending hills and vineyards; made the pictures of the ceremony unique in itself.

Here are a few more ceremony shots for you to enjoy.

I absolutely loved the final shot of the ceremony, with Kristine's bouquet in the air. An amazing choir performance, set up as a surprise to the bride from the groom, serenaded the couples' vows to them. The Groom held is surprise until the very end, he even surprised us!

Let's go to the reception!

The menu at this wedding was to die for! Auberge's world renowned chef, originally from Julie's (owner of I DO! Wedding & Event Design) hometown; Palos Verdes, prepared a beyond appetizing six course tasting menu (each paired with 1-2 wine selections), designed uniquely for Kristine and Steve. I have never seen such thought go into any type of menu and it most definitely paid off. The guests were intrigued by what was to come and delighted with each course as they came out.

The table settings were unique in the fact that there were several glasses awaiting the wine, which I think, made the table even prettier for pictures. To stay true to the bride's passion for wine collecting, each table listed one her favorite ventures.
With lavender up lighting, pin spots, and a floral print floor wash; Hartmann Studios really pulled the room together, making every part of the reception magical for Kristine, Steve and their guests.

The amazing triple tier round butter cream exterior cake made by Amber McKenny, owner of Sweet on Cake, incorporated touches of the wedding by adding a fresh mix of the bridal parties flowers to fill the separations between tiers (which were Red Velvet, Lemon Pucker and Dalmatian flavor). Some of the best pictures came from shots with the cake and the couple!

Keith Johnson All Stars made a huge splash with their eclectic music and the beautiful voice of their singers.. The Bride & Groom added touches of their musical preferences throughout the night, which was also made for several great photo ops!

In such a beautiful place, with such a great wedding party, it's no wonder why this wedding was anything but perfect!
Thanks Kristine & Steve for sharing you day with us,
